News - Contemplative Fire
We are holding a contemplative, mostly silent vigil in solidarity with all victims of abuse connected with the church Sunday 24th November 5-6pm. This is a public event and people can come and go during the event as they wish. For more info and the Zoom link click here.
We had some great times together on our Community Weekend this year, celebrating the 20th birthday of Contemplative Fire together with Companions and Friends, including some who had never been to a Contemplative Fire event before, and many who have journeyed a long time with us. It was wonderful to be together and to share the deep joy that seemed to be echoing in the whole of creation all around us on some wonderful autumnal days. While we were doing a body prayer for joy, I saw a red kite soaring above us, as though they were joining in (or maybe we were joining in with them?) Wonderful.
On Saturday 23rd November morning, Revd Don MacGregor will be with us online, to draw on insights from emerging scientific perspectives together with wisdom from the world’s spiritual traditions to reach towards a re-imagining of God and the Christ that is meaningful and helpful for today. ‘A light at the centre of the world, a fire at the world’s edge… this Wisdom Christ shines forth’ (Bruno Barnhart) Hear (and see) some reflections from those taking part in our Pilgrimage in Everyday Life throughout June. We will also share a body prayer and meditation from the pilgrimage. For the Zoom link, look in your emails if you are on our email list, or go to “Events” on here.
