Bishop Visitor

As an Acknowledged Community within the Church of England, we have benefitted from the accompaniment of a Bishop Visitor, who periodically offers wisdom to us and also guidance and support particularly in the area of safeguarding.

We are in the process of finding a new Bishop Visitor. Our previous Bishop Visitors were Rt Revd Paul Bayes (now retired) and Rt Revd Anne Hollinghurst (now Principal of The Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham).

Community Spiritual Accompanier

Our Community is privileged to have a Spiritual Accompanier, Sister Clare Louise from the Sisters of the Love of God. We have a long standing relationship with the Sisters of the Love of God, who have supported us by accompanying our community in prayer and by occasionally sharing wisdom with us from the depth and breadth of their rich, contemplative life together.

International: Canada

In 2008 Revd Anne Crosthwait took seeds from our community and sowed them in Toronto, where Contemplative Fire Canada emerged as our sister community. In the 2020 pandemic, we were delighted to strengthen our links across the ocean as both communities began to gather online; a journey we continue to share.
