SUMMARY:Shalom Quest with Noel Moules
DESCRIPTION:You are warmly invited to a  \nContemplative Fire online event: ‘Shalom Quest’  with Noel Moules \nSaturday 25th April 2026  on Zoom arrive from 9.45 am \n Event starts 10 am – 12.30pm  \n(Plus an opportunity for a further optional conversation from 1.00-2.00 pm) \n[NB Scroll down for the Zoom link] \nDuring this online event\, Noel will introduce the vision\, possibilities and opportunities of Shalom Quest. \nHe will give a summarising introduction of the Shalom Quest perspective\, which is to encourage individuals to explore spirituality\, recognising that it is at the heart of being – which Noel defines as ’the flow of the experience of meaning and relationship’ – it does not require a belief in God\, neither does it exclude it. \nIt provokes the question\, “What kind of person do you want to be?” and encourages the challenge for everyone to ‘find their path’. Shalom Quest suggests that this will unfold for each of us as we explore the idea of living by life-giving values. Shalom Quest is committed to providing resources and support to help people to do just this. \nIn preparation for the event \, Noel hopes you will have had the opportunity to watch the film (13 minutes long) ‘’What is Shalom Quest?” on the Shalom Quest home page\, and to read through the ‘Homepage’ of the Shalom Quest website and anything else that catches your eye\, so you have a little background and come along to the online event with any questions which the film(s) and website have provoked. \nBy April\, there should be a second film available to watch on the website\, “What is Community?” \nDuring the event\, there will be our usual opportunities for contemplation\, alongside a chance to listen to Noel and then share in small group breakout room discussions. \nIt will also include chances for Q&A. \nAfter the event from 1pm – 2pm: Noel is offering an Optional Conversation: \nNoel will be available after a brief 30-minute lunch break to give more detail about any aspects of Shalom Quest anyone might want to explore further\, and explain what being practically involved in any aspects of the project within the skills and time people may be able to offer. \nTo book onto this event\, if you are able please click here to fill in the google form link as this gives us an idea of the number of people planning to attend. \n\nAbout Noel \n \nNoel is a thinker\, teacher\, author\, and activist for deep ecology\, plus inclusive spirituality (which he defines as ‘the flow of the experience of meaning and relationship’). \nHe describes himself as a ‘Triple-A-Christian’: an Anabaptist (following the radical Jesus)\, an Anarchist (living by spirit-empowered life-giving values; and not rules)\, and an Animist (living in harmonious reciprocal relationships with all creation). \nNoel is a missionary child\, born in India in 1945; his formative years were in the forests and foothills of the Himalaya. In 1967 Noel discovered the Hebrew concept of shalom that has provided the vision and foundation of everything he has done since then. \nIn 1983\, he founded ‘Workshop’ a progressive Christian learning programme with 5\,500 participants in total\, he taught 1080 ‘Workshop’ weekends across the UK between 1983-2014. In 2012\, Noel published his first book\, ‘Fingerprints of Fire\, Footprints of Peace’ about spiritual identity. He is currently writing\, ‘Christian Animism: Jesus’ spirituality and the community of creation’. \nNoel has led seminars on 10 different occasions at the Greenbelt Festival\, and has been invited on two occasions (2014\, 2015)\, to speak as a Christian animist at Pagan Pride\, the UK’s largest Pagan event; plus\, many other events over the decades. \nIn 2021\, Noel began creating resources and safe spaces for the Shalom Quest project to support people in finding their own spiritual path\, which is still in the early stages of development. \nNoel is married\, they have three adult children. He lives in Sheffield in the UK. He is a totally inclusive Universalist\, an ethical vegan\, committed to ‘assertive meekness’ (nonviolence). He loves walking\, listening to global music\, listening and learning from others\, and inspiring hope everywhere. \nZoom link: \nContemplative Fire is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting arrive 9:45am for 10am start.\nJoin Zoom Meeting\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/81573846999?pwd=auflaUOgmIIaEzIkYcS5xLvXwqRaf5.1 \nMeeting ID: 815 7384 6999\nPasscode: 518652 \n— \nOne tap mobile\n+443300885830\,\,81573846999#\,\,\,\,*518652# United Kingdom\n+441314601196\,\,81573846999#\,\,\,\,*518652# United Kingdom \nJoin instructions\nhttps://us02web.zoom.us/meetings/81573846999/invitations?signature=pb7P-rmyA41viw_Trcx1TOrJ77OSZcpV5hs4G6atRyk \n──────────
